Volkswagen Golf Service & Repair Manual: Removing and installing lid for through-loading aperture

Special tools and workshop equipment required
   
   

Torque wrench -V.A.G 1410

Removing
–  Fold down centre armrest and open lid for through-loading aperture.
–  Remove bolts -2-.
–  Remove centre armrest with lid -1- for through-loading aperture.
–  Remove centre armrest → Chapter.
–  Remove lower intermediate padding → Chapter.
Installing
–  Fit lid -1- for through-loading aperture with centre armrest and tighten bolts only hand-tight.
–  Close lid for through-loading aperture and align it.
–  Tighten bolts -2- on rear seat backrest.
Further installation is performed in reverse order of removal
