Volkswagen Golf Service & Repair Manual: Notes for vehicles with start-stop system

Observe the safety precautions for vehicles with a start-stop system → Chapter.
If a start-stop system is installed, the following abort conditions will deactivate the start-stop function:
The start-stop system has been switched off via the start-stop mode button.
The charge condition of the battery is insufficient to restart the engine (starting voltage prediction).
The defrost function is active.
The windscreen heater function is active.
The air conditioner system temperature set in the control element deviates by more than 8 °C from the actual temperature of the interior.
The engine speed is greater than 1200 rpm.
The alternator -C- is defective, i.e. belt broken.
Coolant temperature not within specifications of 25 °C - 100 °C.
Blower speed increase by more than 4 stages.
