Volkswagen Golf Service & Repair Manual: Removing and installing exhaust system
Danger of severe burns from hot exhaust system. Burns to hands and other
body parts possible.Allow exhaust system to cool.

Switch off electrical consumers. |

Switch off auxiliary and supplementary heater and switch off
ignition. |

Remove front noise insulation
→ General body repairs, exterior; Rep. gr.66. |
– |
Remove charge air hose (depending on engine version)
→ Rep. gr.21. |

Unscrew securing nut -1- from
exhaust system -2-. |
– |
Remove exhaust system -2- from
stud secured by nut -1- in
-direction of arrow A-. |
– |
Remove exhaust system -2- from
heater unit in direction of arrow -B-. |
Installation is carried out in the reverse order. When
installing, note the following: |
