Volkswagen Golf Service & Repair Manual: Removing and installing holder for heater and air conditioning unit
Note
Leave the holders in the vehicle on removing the heater and
air conditioning unit. The illustration shows a left-hand drive
vehicle. |

Remove heater and air conditioner unit
→ Chapter. |
– |
Disconnect electrical connector -1-. |
– |
Fold aside the heat shield -2-
behind the ABS unit. |
– |
Unscrew nuts -3- and
-5-. |
– |
Detach the holder -4- in the
passenger compartment. |
Note
The refrigerant pipe with the internal heat exchanger must
be removed if the nut above the ABS unit is not accessible as
described

Installation is carried out in the reverse order. When
installing, note the following: |

Insert holders -1- and
-3- into mounting on heater and air
conditioning unit -2- and place
heater and air conditioning unit in installation position. |
– |
Install heater and air conditioning unit
→ Chapter. |

|
|
– |
Tighten nuts -3- and
-5- on holders. |
– |
Install remaining components. |
– |
Read event memory, and clear any entries displayed vehicle
diagnostic tester in “Guided fault finding” mode. |
– |
As a final step, check operation of the heater/air
conditioner. |
