Removing
–  Remove dash panel → General body repairs, interior; Rep. gr.70.
–  Remove the air duct for the defroster vent → Chapter.
–  Unbolt air distribution flap control motor → Chapter.
   
–  Carefully press off the actuating lever -5--arrow-.
–  Unscrew bolts -1-, -2- and -6-.
–  Remove actuation unit -7- upwards.
Installing
–  Installation is carried out in the reverse order. When installing, note the following:

Check operation of flaps and hinge mechanism before fitting.
Make sure levers and shafts are properly fitted in the mounts.

–  Check for correct mutual positioning of the two gear wheels.
The rectangular tooth -2- must engage in the gap -3- at the gear wheel -1-.

–  When fitting actuation unit, actuating lever -3- must engage in lever -4- of centre vent flap.
Specified torque
→ Chapter „Assembly overview - heater and air conditioning unit“
Dash panel; Assembly overview - dash panel → General body repairs, interior; Rep. gr.70.
